To the Buddhist the peacock is linked to Kwan Yin who represents compassionate watchfulness. It is a natural symbol of the sun and the stars of the sky. Islam describes the peacocks ‘eyes’ as the “Eye of the Heart.”

To the Christian it is the “hundred eyes” of the all seeing church. It is the also the emblem of the goddess Sarasvati, goddess of wisdom and compassion.
