On February 12, 1909, 40 men convened in the Summer Parlor of the Hotel Fulmer to discuss the formation of a new fire company in the borough of Stroudsburg. After thorough discussion, a name was chosen, The Stroudsburg Chemical and Hook and Ladder Company # 1.

A charter was granted to Chemical Company #1 by the Court of Common Pleas of Monroe County, on February 18, 1910.

Membership is 100% volunteer. We leave our families at the dinner table, family gatherings, church, sporting events, and in the middle of the night to respond to the needs of others.

This pin has been created to commemorate our first 100 years.
